Andrea Hayduk's philosophy on drunk driving (DUI/DWI) defense is that, unless the State will offer a plea that is significantly better than going to trial and losing, there is no good reason not to take the case to trial.

Unlike many other charges in state court, more often then not in DUI/DWI cases there is very little if any benefit to pleading guilty. As a result, she prepares every DUI/DWI case for trial, unlike the vast majority of other lawyers who will assume they cannot win your case and simply plead you guilty.

Ms. Hayduk graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature in 1999. Upon graduation she attended the University of Tennessee College of Law.

After receiving her J.D. in May of 2002, she moved to Washington D.C. and went to work as an associate attorney in the firm of DUI defense guru, Leonard R. Stamm. Under his direction, Ms. Hayduk was immersed in the practice of DUI defense. She spent most of her time in court and tried multiple cases per week, both in court and before the motor vehicle administration.

Additionally, she attended numerous training seminars throughout the country on DUI defense and was active in the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney's Association.

In the spring of 2008, Ms. Hayduk relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she joined the firm Kennedy, Koontz and Farinash, and now practices DUI and traffic ticket defense in her home state of Tennessee.

Ms. Hayduk is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense. She attended the National College for DUI Defense summer session at Harvard in 2004 and 2006.

Additionally, she is among the very few Tennessee lawyers who have completed a 24 hour course in the administration of NHTSA's standardized field sobriety tests. She later attended a 32 hour instructor's course, and since that time has co-instructed three NHTSA based classes for other lawyers.

Ms. Hayduk lives on Signal Mountain with her husband and two small children. She loves being a mom and spending time with family.
